Happy October! And thanks!
I’m writing you from the dark cave of our home, while Hurricane Ian blows Miami a very wet kiss. We’ve lowered our shutters, having learned even storm-force winds can cause damage. It’s dark and stormy outside, weirdly gloomy inside. And oh, did I mention my 18-year-old stove died?
And yet, I feel grateful. A new range should be here this week, I’m safe and dry, except for the soggy dog walks Potcake isn’t too pleased about. And we’re at that midpoint between Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, when I can take a breath and send a heartfelt and overdue thanks to you subscribers, newbies and long-haulers alike. I’m honored when you ask me about a recipe, when you share your own story, or turn me on to something new and wonderful. Please keep doing it. You’re what makes me smile in the kitchen and at the keyboard.
As a thank you to subscribers, I'd like to offer you my award-winning book, Feeding the Hungry Ghost at a special 30% off discount now through the end of the year. Discount code: BROCCOLIRISING
I’m glad to be presenting more, both publicly through Miami Dade Public Library’s virtual cooking classes, and privately for a number of organizations. I’d love to present to your group, too. Contact me and let’s explore possibilities.
